“Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he (the Vinedresser) takes away …” (John 15:2a)

When Jesus was talking about the “fruitless” branches, He was referring to three types of people:
Cuando Jesús hablaba de las ramas “infructuosas”, se refería a tres tipos de personas:
1. Those who refuse to listen to Jesus.
1. Aquellos que se niegan a escuchar a Jesús.
“15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:15-20)
“15 »Cuídense de esos mentirosos que pretenden hablar de parte de Dios. Vienen a ustedes disfrazados de ovejas, pero por dentro son lobos feroces. 16 Ustedes los pueden reconocer por sus acciones, pues no se cosechan uvas de los espinos ni higos de los cardos. 17 Así, todo árbol bueno da fruto bueno, pero el árbol malo da fruto malo. 18 El árbol bueno no puede dar fruto malo, ni el árbol malo dar fruto bueno. 19 Todo árbol que no da buen fruto, se corta y se echa al fuego. 20 De modo que ustedes los reconocerán por sus acciones.” (Mateo 7:15-20) [DHH]
“ But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22)
“Pero no basta con oír el mensaje; hay que ponerlo en práctica, pues de lo contrario se estarían engañando ustedes mismos.” (Santiago 1:22) [DHH]
2. Those who listen to Jesus but only give lip service.
2. Aquellos que escuchan a Jesús pero sólo le dan gracias de palabra.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22)
“Sean hacedores de la palabra y no solamente oidores que se engañan a sí mismos.” (Santiago 1:22) [NBLA]
“21 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” (Matthew 7:21-23)

The Bible makes it clear that the primary cause of fruitlessness is our conscious giving in to sin!
¡La Biblia deja claro que la causa principal de la infructuosidad es nuestra sumisión consciente al pecado!
3. Those who accept Jesus and then walk away from Him.
3. Aquellos que aceptan a Jesús y luego se alejan de Él.
“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” (Matthew 24:24)
“Porque vendrán falsos mesías y falsos profetas; y harán grandes señales y milagros, para engañar, a ser posible, hasta a los que Dios mismo ha escogido.” (Mateo 24:24) [DHH]
“If anyone does not abide in me, he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.” (John 15:6)
“El que no permanece unido a mí, será echado fuera y se secará como las ramas que se recogen y se queman en el fuego.” (Juan 15:6) [DHH]
