Before we knew Jesus, we could only harvest temporary things. Now we can receive the eternal.

Because as soon as we believed, God gave us the best gift of all. Himself.

“And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.” (Ephesians 1:13b)

His Spirit makes His home with us. (Ephesians 3:17) He will never leave us. (John 14:16) He will never fail us. (Hebrews 13:5) He comforts us when we’re troubled (2 Corinthians 1:5), and tells us what we need to know. (John 16:13) He guides us along a path that leads to heaven and makes us more like Jesus along the way.

In Him, we have harvested a gift like no other. Though we will continue to have problems and trials and difficulties, He fills our life with peace, and patience, and kindness, and goodness, and faithfulness, and gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
