Learning To Think Like Jesus

“My child, pay attention to my words; listen closely to what I say. Don’t ever forget my words; keep them always in mind. They are the key to life for those who find them; they bring health to the whole body. Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life.” (Proverbs 4:20-23) [NCV]

“We can understand these things, because we have THE MIND OF CHRIST!” (1 Corinthians 2:16) [NLT]

“In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5) [NCV]

10 Characteristics of Thinking Like Jesus (1-5):

  1. He knew exactly who He was.

“I AM:

“. . . the Bread of Life.” (Jn. 6:35)

“. . . the Light of the world.” (John 8:12)

“. . . the Good Shepherd” (Jn 10:11)

“. . . the Resurrection and the Life.” (Jn 11:25)

“. . . the Way, the Truth and the Life.” (John 14:6)

“. . . the True Vine.” (John 15:1)

“. . . the Son of God.” (Mark 14:61-62)

  1. He knew His purpose for life.

“I must proclaim the Good News about God’s kingdom, for I was sent for this purpose.” (Luke 4:43) [RSV]

  1. He was always aware that God was with Him.

“Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.” (John 16:32) [ESV]

  1. God helped Him choose His word.

“I have not spoken on my own. Instead, the Father who sent me tells me what I should say and how I should say it.” (John 12:49) [GW]

  1. He never worried about pleasing everyone.

“I only try to please the One who sent me.” (John 5:30) [NCV]
