Meet Our Pastor, Brian Townsend
Brian and his wife, Lisa, joined the Sierra Vista Community Church family in May 2026. With nearly 30 years of ministry experience, Brian has served as a pastor, church outreach director, and collegiate ministry director.
Brian is a proud New Mexico State University graduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in Fishery Biology in 1992. Yes… fish. Somewhere along the way, God made it clear that catching people would be a better long-term career choice. He later earned his Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (now Gateway Seminary).
When he’s not preaching or reading another book that’s far too thick, you’ll likely find Brian enjoying a great cup of coffee, watching a New Mexico sunset with Lisa, or dreaming about the next fly-fishing trip he’s convinced is just around the corner.
Brian and Lisa are blessed with six wonderful adult children and are passionate about helping people discover the beauty of following Jesus together.
