TAKING INVENTORY OF TOMORROW
2020: Clear Vision For The New Year - Part 4
January 26, 2020

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” (James 4:13-17 )

Lessons We Can Learn About Tomorrow:

  • Tomorrow is a day to be humble.

13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil” (James 3:13 & 16)

  • Tomorrow is a day of mystery.

“... 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” (James 3:14 )

12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12 )

  • Tomorrow is a day of rest and trust.

5 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” (James 3:15 )
