Our God-given ministry of reconciliation gives us …
- … a new perspective.
“ 16 From now on, then, we do not know anyone in a purely human way. Even if we have known Christ in a purely human way, yet now we no longer know Him in this way. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.” (2 Corinthians 5:16-17 )
“For this world in its current form is passing away.” (1 Corinthians 7:31 )
- … a new mission.
“ 18 Everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us.” (2 Corinthians 5:18-19 )
- … a new message.
“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf.” (2 Corinthians 5:20 )
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” (Matthew 6:33 )
“ 18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness, the mystery of the gospel. 20 For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak as I should.” (Ephesians 6:18-20 )
- … a new purpose.
“He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 )
“We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished Him for the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6 )
“ 14 For Christ’s love compels us, since we have reached this conclusion: If One died for all, then all died. 15 And He died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the One who died for them and was raised.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15 )
