“... for we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a mature man who is also able to control his whole body.” (James 3:2 )

How To Recover From A Botched Dream:

  • Accept responsibility for YOUR poor decisions.

Four Common Causes For Botched Dreams:

(Things We Can Learn From Peter’s Betrayal of Jesus )

  • Pride!

“Peter told Him, “Even if everyone runs away, I will certainly not!” (Mark 14:29 )

  • Fatigue.

“Then He came and found them sleeping. “Simon, are you sleeping?” He asked Peter. “Couldn’t you stay awake one hour?”  (Mark 14:37 )

  • Fear.

“Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the high priest’s courtyard...” (Mark 14:54 a)

  • Instant gratification.

“He was sitting with the temple police, warming himself by the fire.” (Mark 14:54 b)

  • Ask God for forgiveness and mercy.

1 Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithful love; according to Your abundant compassion, blot out my rebellion. 2 Wash away my guilt and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I am conscious of my rebellion, and my sin is always before me … 6 Surely You desire integrity in the inner self, and You teach me wisdom deep within … 10 God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”  (Psalm 51:1-3 , 6 & 10)

  • Accept God’s amazing grace!

“We have redemption in Him through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace …”  (Ephesians 1:7 )

“Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus …” (Romans 8:1 )

“For I know the plans I have for you” - This is the Lord’s declaration - “plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to you a future and a hope.”  (Jeremiah 29:11 )

“Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us …”  (Ephesians 3:20 )
