TRUST GOD TO MEET YOUR NEEDS
Walking Through The Valleys of Life - Part 4
May 10, 2020
Worship Leaders: Miguel Torres, Jim Carlile
Sermon: Pastor Ruben Ortega
“The Lord is my shepherd …” (Psalm 23:1 a)
“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32 )
Three Rational Reasons To Trust God:
1. God is the source of everything I need.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1 )
2. There is nothing I need that God can’t supply.
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 )
3. God doesn’t want me to worry about anything.
“... do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6 )
We shouldn’t worry because worrying is...
...unreasonable. (Matthew 6:25 )
...unnatural. (Matthew 6:26,28-29 )
...unhelpful. (Matthew 6:27 )
...unnecessary. (Matthew 6:30 )
...unbelief. (Matthew 6:32 a)
How Do You Trust Jesus To Meet Your Needs?
- Declare your dependence on Him daily.
“ 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.” (John 10:14-15 )
- Submit every area of your life daily to Him.
“32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:32-33 )
- Relax and give Him your worries in prayer.
“... casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 )
- Trust Him one day at a time.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:34 )
