Two Primary Meanings for “… bears all things …”
- To endure, to put up with.
- To cover or protect.
“To bear basically means to cover or support, therefore to protect.” -John MacArthur
Consider what it means to cover, protect, and guard when ...
- … no sin is involved.
Be careful to be sure that your concern is not generated by personality differences!
- … sin is involved.
Luke 17:3 : Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him...
Matthew 18:15 : If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
Galatians 6:1-2 : Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Proverbs 10:12 : Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

Matthew 7:3-5 : Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
