Javier was born and raised in the El Paso/Las Cruces area and has lived here his whole life. At the age of 13, Javier was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident which led to serious, life-threatening injuries. After years of surgeries and treatments, Javier's leg, which was severely damaged in the accident, was not healing and doctors began contemplating amputation. One day, as Javier got off the school bus in crutches, a neighbor offered to pray for him. It was at this point that our loving Savior Jesus healed Javier's leg. This is when Javier came to know the Lord. Javier came to know our Lord and Savior Jesus when he was 15. Javier began attending SVCC in 2013 and has been actively involved since. Javier is currently a deacon who oversees buildings and grounds as well as shares a variety of church responsibilities with fellow deacons. Luke 18:9-14 is the parable of the pharisee and tax collector. Javier keeps this verse in mind daily to stay humble and help others at all times.
